Dave has been a blogger and independent writer for the majority of his life. He is a devoted father, Christian, coffee addict, and freelance photographer.
He started blogging at around the age of 12, when he was going though a very rough period in his life. As he developed this interest, he began an online journal of thoughts, devotions, and rants on a very personal level.
Today, Dave has a few very specific passions in his love for writing. His first would be his passion for fathers, men in general, dads, and the multiple combinations of relationships that each of those groups involve. Two profound influences in this area of thought and passion come from Wild at Heart by John Eldredge (follow link to Ransomed Heart Ministries website), and his attendance of the 2013 Promise Keepers men’s convention in Phoenix, Arizona.
The second passion near and dear to Dave’s heart is exposure of the truths of God, the Bible, and Christianity. Challenging faith and Christianity in today’s day and age is not popular, and even ridiculed. Many have accused thoughts, writings, and ideas of Dave’s to be blasphemy and heresy. However, having been born in raised steeped in fundamentalism and religious brainwashing, Dave has overcome many demons to see God for who He is.
“The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.” ~ Brennan Manning
The last, but not least, major passion would be our intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. In today’s culture and mindset, God seems to appear so far away. The truth of the matter is, we distance ourselves from God, yet He is always there when we take an act of repentance and turn around 180 degrees. Sometimes having an intimate relationship with God is vague, but it does not have to be!
In no way does Dave claim to “know it all,” have perfectly molded theology, or even think that his way is the only way. The truth of the matter is, he has lived a troubled and hard life, been separated from God, and tried the hard, hopeless road of agnosticism and borderline atheism. His thoughts and conclusions are based on a foundation of pure experience and full surrender to Christ.
Dave is also very passionate about motorcycles. He is involved in a motorcycle club, and he rides. Everywhere. Being a Christian in an MC can be very difficult, but not impossible by any means.
